Dr. Shad has more than 35 years of experience in Pediatrics with expertise in pediatric hematology and oncology. She is actively involved in the development of pediatric oncology programs in developing countries, particularly in Asia, the Middle East and Africa and is the medical director and co-founder of the ASLAN Project. Dr. Shad affirms, “Every day is an opportunity for us to make life better for children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.” She has been an invited presenter at more than 230 national and international meetings and has written more than 100 scientific articles, abstracts and book chapters. She has also served as principal investigator for multiple clinical research studies. Additionally, she is on the teaching faculty of the Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Aziza T. Shad is a member of several professional associations including the American Society of Pediatric Hematology Oncology and the International Society of Pediatric Oncology. She earned her medical degree from Dow Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan performing her pediatric residency training in Pakistan, the United Kingdom and at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. She completed her fellowship in pediatric hematology oncology at the National Cancer Institute.
